Purity 101

The Most Important Thing

Have you asked Jesus Christ to save you? This is the first step to pleasing God and living a pure life. If you want to give your heart to Christ today, you need to agree with God about these truths found in God's Word:
First, admit that you are a sinner. Up to now, I'm sure you'd agree that you have not lived a life of purity before God. No one has. Even if you commit to staying pure, you'll still find yourself struggling to defeat sin. That's because we all have a sin nature. The Bible says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
Next, the Bible tells us that our sin has a punishment: eternal death in hell. Romans 6:23a says, "For the wages (payment) of sin is death." You cannot enter God's presence or fellowship with God unless the penalty for your sin is paid-and that penalty would take you an eternity in hell to pay!
The third part is the best part, though, because this is the good news about how there was one Person, the only One who never sinned, who has freely taken your punishment on Himself. That Person was Jesus Christ, God's only son, who became a man so that he could die on the cross in your place. "But God commendeth (gives) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) He paid our penalty as His free gift to us. The Bible tells us this in the last part of Romans 6:23, which says, "…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
If you believe that Jesus died for your sins and that He rose again and is waiting in heaven for us, you can be saved today! Just tell God you accept the free gift paid for by His Son on the cross. "FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED." (Romans 10:13) God wants to save you today!
Will you bow in prayer to God and ask Him to add you to the list of people whose sins have been covered by the shed blood of Jesus Christ?
