you are not sure that you're alive in Christ, then you probably
According to God's Word, we are all
born with a sin nature, or a desire to do sinful things. The Bible
talks about us being "dead in trespasses and sins" before we are
saved (Ephesians 2:1).
These sins, such as disobedience,
anger, lying, cheating, gossiping, jealousy, etc., come with an
unwelcome reward. The "reward" for sin is death--eternal death in
hell! Romans 3:23 says that "the wages of sin is death; but the
gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Just like a gift under the Christmas
tree with your name on it, Jesus, who died on the cross in your
place, wants you to now take His free gift of eternal life.
You can't earn this gift. The Bible
says that no one can be "good enough" to earn being adopted into
God's family and inheriting a home in heaven. Ephesians 2:8-9 says,
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should
Faith is the key to salvation,
and faith means believing God means what He says and that He will
do what He says He will do!
Here is what God says He will do:
"For whosoever (that means anyone) shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13)." All you have to do is
believe and ask. His promise is that if you simply ask Him, He will
save you from the punishment of your sin and give you an eternal
home with Him in heaven.
Have you asked Jesus to give you the
eternal life He purchased for you by His death on the cross? If
not, please don't wait--do it today!
If you'd like to be saved, you can pray a prayer like this: "Dear
Jesus, I now accept your free gift of salvation. Please forgive
me of my sins. I want to give my life to You on earth, and spend
eternity with You in heaven. I am trusting in You only for my salvation.
Thank You for dying in my place. Amen."
